I’m Liz O’Riordan. I’m a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and a keen cyclist, triathlete and baker.
Ironically, in July 2015 I was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer (ductal, lobular and DCIS) at the age of 40. I've blogged about my treatment to tell my own unique story of being both a doctor and a patient in my own speciality. It's helped make my own diagnosis sink in, and has been a way to carry on helping people whilst I'm not able to work. My latest blog is 'Waiting'.
I was invited to give a TEDx talk in Stuttgart 2016 - Jar of Joy - about how to help someone you know with cancer.
